DROP-IN WEEDING & MULCH EVENT
June 10 (3:00pm - 8:00pm)
*Event may be rescheduled to June 11 in case of rain
Volunteers are needed Monday June 10 after school for maintenance work in the schoolyard naturalization area. Please see below for details!
Who?
Helpers of all kind are needed: parents, kids, friends, community members. No prior gardening knowledge or skills are required - we will show you what to do!
What is it?
We will tidy up the area by removing unwanted plants (weeds) and debris and spreading mulch.
The Banff Trail Schoolyard Development Society is responsible for maintenance of the naturalized area of the schoolyard, but we need your help!
Please bring any of the following:
- gardening gloves
- rake
- shovel
- wheelbarrow
When is it?
Schoolyard Development members will be on site during the evening on June 10 (3:00pm - 8:00pm). Stop by for as little or as long as you can - every minute counts.
Why?
Although it is a ’natural’ area, some control of unwanted plants and removal of dead materials and debris will ensure that children can continue to enjoy the area. Learn more about the native plants and trees in our schoolyard, whilst enjoying the outdoors with members of the Banff Trail Community.
